Insulated Electrical Aluminum Wire
A layer of non-conductive material, such as resin, plastic, silicone rubber and PVC, is evenly and sealed around the wire, forming an insulating layer to prevent electrical leakage, short circuit and electric shock from contact with the outside world.

Electrical wiring to be run in conduit comes in individual strands, encased in insulation to protect the wire and insulate it from other wires and the conduit.
