LA141 is a typical commercial magnesium-lithium alloy with low density, medium strength, good shaping and good corrosion resistance.  Magnesium-lithium alloy features:
1. Ultralight: The lightest metal structure material in the world, with a density of 1.35-1.65g/cm3, which is 1/2 lighter than aluminum alloy and 1/3 lighter than magnesium alloy.
2. Excellent rigidity: The rigidity is 22 times that of steel; the weight of magnesium and lithium required for the same rigidity is only 1/3 of that of steel.
3. Superplasticity: The tensile elongation rate of magnesium-lithium at high temperature can reach 758%. The superplastic forming process can obtain thin-walled parts with precise size, complex shape and uniform grain structure.
4. Good electrical and thermal conductivity: The thermal conductivity is about 300 to 400 times that of plastics, which is 30-50 times that of carbon fiber composite materials, and the electrical conductivity is about 1016 times that of plastics and 104 times that of carbon fiber composite materials.
5. Excellent shock absorption performance: With a large internal friction coefficient, energy can be consumed inside the metal, which can effectively improve the stability of the equipment, and is suitable for making equipment with shock absorption requirements, such as aerospace shock absorption parts, tank.
6. Excellent electromagnetic shielding performance: Magnesium lithium alloy has a good shielding effect on electromagnetic waves of different bands.
