7175 alloy is specially used to produce forgings and rolling rings, and the state of the material is T74. The characteristic of 7175 T74 aluminum alloy forgings is the special processing and heat treatment process, so that its strength is close to 7075 T6 alloy forgings, and the stress corrosion resistance is close to the 7075 T73 forgings with the best corrosion state. The reduction of Fe and Si rolling can not only improve the forging performance of the alloy, but also improve the stress corrosion resistance and fracture toughness of the forgings.

On the basis of 7075 alloy, the purity is improved, which is mainly used as die forgings. There are three heat treatment states of T66, T74 and T7452 for 7175 aluminum alloy forgings. Among them, T66 state die forgings have higher static strength than 7075 T6 forgings, while fatigue, crack resistance and stress corrosion resistance are equal. The static strength of T74 state die forgings and free forgings is similar to that of 7075 T6 forgings, and the stress corrosion resistance is between 7075 T73 and 7075 T76, while toughness and fatigue properties are even better than those of 7075 T73 forgings. The resistance to stress corrosion of T74 state is obviously higher than that of 7075 T6, which is close to 7075 T73 state. 7175 T66 T74 T7452 aluminum alloy forgings is mainly used in the front of the aircraft, window frame, fairing joint, manipulating parts and so on.
